朝日を見ようと、絶景ロードとして知られている仁田峠循環自動車道路のワインディングロードを、バイクで駆け上がりましたが、まさかの営業時間外のため通行止め。朝一番から凄まじく集中力を使い果たしてどっと疲れました。
I rode up the winding road on the Nita Pass circuit road, which is known as the most beautiful road, to see the sunrise, but it was out of business hours and the road was closed. I was exhausted from the first thing in the morning as my concentration was exhausted.
フェリーを待つ間、営業時間外のイルカウォッチングの桟橋に行き、創業者の方に話を聞きました。何代も続く漁師さんで今はそこの桟橋で魚釣ってる80過ぎの爺ちゃんが20年以上前に始めたそうですが、そのまたずっと昔から此処にイルカはずっと居たそうです。でもイルカは美味しくないし、もっと美味しい魚が幾らでもとれたので、昔から誰もとらなかったとの事です。居着きがおよそ300匹、流れものは1000匹いるそう。潮の満ち引きで日によっている場合は違うけど爺ちゃんにはだいたい分かるそうです。
Japan Nagasaki Kuchinotu Dolphin Watching
While waiting for the ferry, we went to the dolphin watching pier after hours and talked to the founder of the restaurant. He is a fisherman who has been fishing for many generations, and now he is over 80 years old and started this pier more than 20 years ago. But dolphins are not tasty and there are many better fishes available, so no one has been catching them for a long time. I heard that there are about 300 dolphins and 1,000 dolphins in the sea. Grandpa says he can tell the number of dolphins by the tide, though it depends on the day.

この海の海流の速さはほぼ渓流並み。橋の上からでなく目の前で見られるので、ものすごく迫力があります。釣りをしている青年に聞いてみたところ、もっと早い時もあるそうです。
Uzushio Observation Deck
The speed of the currents in this ocean is almost as fast as a mountain stream. You can see it in front of your eyes, not from the bridge, so it's very powerful. When I asked a young man who was fishing, he said that sometimes the speed is even faster.
楽しみにしていた鹿児島の「黒豚料理 あぢもり」に行きましたが、ランチタイム終了につき、今待っているいる人で終了と言うことで食べられませんでした。もうひと店舗有名店はあるけどそちらは大行列。日本最南端の佐多岬で日の入りを見る時間を考えると一時間並んでまで食べる余裕はなく、フェリー乗り場へ直行しました。
We were looking forward to going to "Ajimori," a Kurobuta cuisine in Kagoshima, but we couldn't eat it because it was closed for lunch and the restaurant was closed to the people who were waiting for it. There was another famous restaurant, but there was a big line at that one. We couldn't afford to wait in line for an hour to see the sunset at Cape Sata, the southernmost point in Japan, so we went straight to the ferry terminal.
時間がないと思いつつも、もっと近くで桜島を見たいので湯之平展望所へ上った。
Yunohira observation deck
We thought we were running out of time, but we wanted to get a closer look at Sakurajima, so we went up to the Yunohira observation deck.

日本最南端 佐多岬の夕陽を見に行った。
展望台までバリアフリーにした英断に拍手！さすが時代の先を行く薩摩人。尊敬します。多くの日本の観光地にありがちな時代錯誤のもの一切なく洗練されています。自己責任精神で通行時間制限なし。鹿児島の偉人である西郷さんも大隈さんも納得すると思われる世界に誇れる展望台です。
We went to see the sunset at Cape Sata, the southernmost point in Japan.
Applaud the wise decision to make the observatory barrier-free! Satsuma people is indeed a man ahead of his time.I admire them. There are no anachronisms that are common in many Japanese tourist sites, but they are refined. There is no time limit for traffic.It is a world-famous observatory that Mr. Saigo and Mr. Okuma, a great person in Kagoshima, would agree with.
佐多岬の駐車場にある展望台からの景色。以前はここまでしか来られなかったし、悪名高い有料道路で朝と夕方は入れなかったので、良い時代になりましたね。

It used to be that you could only get this far and you couldn't get in in the morning and evening on the infamous toll road, so these are good times.
帰りの道は怖いほどの満天の星空でしたがiphone5sでは写るわけないね、
On the way home, the sky was so full of stars that it was scary, but there was no way I could capture it with my iPhone5s.
良い意味で裏切られた かのやグランドホテル をダラダラと語る
全く期待していなかった、成り行きで直前に予約した、かのやグランドホテル。グランドホテルと言う名前の通り素晴らしいホテルでした。最近のコスパな安普請の建物ではなく、空間にゆとりを持って丁寧に作り込まれた昭和の建物の良さを上手く活かしながら衛生的に改装されてます。8カ月前の口コミで酷評されてましたが、最近経営が変わったらしく、従業員さんの接客も申し分なく改善され丁寧でした。通りがかりで安さに惹かれ泊まったので失礼ながら全く期待していませんでしたが良い意味で裏切られました。今時バイキングではない朝食に最初はガッカリしましたが、よく考えてみると凄い。朝食の時間をチェックインの時聞かれ何かと思ってましたが、一人一人食事に来た都度にベテランシェフが火を入れるコスト度外視の対応でした。もちろん宿泊費が非常に安いのでメニューにゴージャスさは求められませんが、シンプルながら完璧な火加減の目玉焼きとトースト。今どき珍しいポットに入れたコーヒーの味。年を経ていい味が出ているシルバー。昭和ゴージャスな内装。格安ながらグランドホテルの名に偽りのない良い意味で昭和な朝食に感服しました。更に、喫煙者には涙ものの喫煙ルームも未だあるとの事でした。
Kanoya Grand Hote
I booked the Kanoya Grand Hotel at the last minute in a haphazard manner, which we had no expectations for. It was a wonderful hotel as the name "Grand Hotel" implies. The hotel is a great place to stay. The staff were very helpful and polite. The breakfast was great, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were asked at check-in what time breakfast was served and I wondered what it was, but the veteran chef fired up the food each time a person came to eat, without regard to cost. Of course, since the cost of accommodation is very low, you can't expect the menu to be gorgeous, but the simple but perfectly cooked fried eggs and toast were perfect. The taste of coffee in a pot, which is rare nowadays. Silver with a nice flavor that has come out over the years. The interior is gorgeous in the Showa era. We were impressed with the breakfast, which was in a good sense of the word "Grand Hotel", although it was inexpensive. Furthermore, it was said that there are still smoking rooms for smokers to cry over.

九州の南端から東海岸を北上。
一日中雨天のため、日南海岸はパス。
西都原古墳群には立ち寄ったが、
勉強不足のため単なる丘にしか見えなかった。
On the fourth day, we headed north along the east coast from the southern tip of Kyushu.
However, it was raining all day, so we passed on the Nichinan coast and Miyazaki City.
We stopped by the Saitobaru Tumulus Group, but due to lack of study, it looked like a mere hill.
その後、宮崎県のナンバーワンのサーフスポット、お蔵ヶ浜で休憩して海を眺め、
その後は、大分市まで一気に北上した。
After that, we took a break at Miyazaki Prefecture's number one surfing spot, Ozuragahama, to look at the ocean, and then headed north to Oita City.
After that, we headed north all the way to Oita City.
お蔵ヶ浜は、日本の有名サーフスポット。日本の渚百選にも選ばれ、白砂青松が4kmにわたって広がっている。行政も観光に力を入れ、積極的に設備の整備支援しており、400台収容の無料駐車場や温水シャワートイレなどの設備が整っている。駐車場は自由な空気に満ちており、皆、マナーを守り、一日を車の近くでゆったりと過ごしている。すぐ近くにキャンプ場もある。多数のサーフショップがあり、レンタルやスクールも充実している。津波が心配かもしれないが、すぐ近くに避難できる丘があり、案内の看板も分かりやすい。
It is famous as a surfing spot in Japan. It has been selected as one of the 100 best beaches in Japan, and the white sand and green pine trees stretch for 4km. The local government has put a lot of effort into tourism and is actively supporting the development of facilities, including a free parking lot for 400 cars and hot shower toilets. The parking lot is filled with an air of freedom, and everyone has good manners and spends the day relaxing near their cars. There is also a campground nearby. There are many surf stores, rentals, and schools. If you are worried about tsunamis, there is an evacuation hill nearby, and the signs are easy to follow
